Karaweik Palace Kandawgyi Lake

A curved wooden boardwalk leads the eye from the foreground across still water toward the Karaweik Palace, its gilded tiers and sweeping red prow-forms rising against a sky that has caught fire. The view is low and close to the water's surface, so the palace and the sky above it mirror perfectly in the lake below, doubling the spectacle into a single symmetrical blaze.
