McWay Falls Coastal Cove

Seen from an elevated vantage point above the cove, this scene looks down into one of Big Sur's most spellbinding pockets of coastline. Dark, forest-crowned headlands frame either side of the composition, their rust-and-ochre cliffs dropping sharply toward a crescent of pale sand. Between them, the water glows in vivid layers of turquoise and seafoam green, the swirling surf catching white light as it curls against the rocks. Tucked into the left cliff face, a slender waterfall drops in a clean white thread toward the shore below. Above it all, the sky opens into a blaze of amber and gold — a sunset that bleeds warmth across the horizon and reflects across the Pacific in long, shimmering strokes.
