Iceland is one of those places where the atmosphere itself is the subject — light that moves through a dozen colours between dawn and noon, lava fields furred with moss in the most delicate celadon, and skies that perform without any sense of occasion. The landscape feels geologically young and slightly unfinished, as though the island is still deciding what it wants to be.
