The lagoon at Aitutaki holds water in shades that shift between aquamarine and pale jade depending on depth and time of day, the sand so fine and white it reads almost as negative space in a painting. These islands are small enough to feel intimate rather than vast, their interiors rising into dark volcanic green above the bright coastal fringe, the whole thing rendered in a palette of extraordinary clarity.
