Curator's Note

La Fortuna, Costa Rica | 'Where the volcano keeps watch and the jungle never sleeps'

La Fortuna sits at the foot of Arenal Volcano, one of the most perfectly conical peaks on earth, and the town pulses with the kind of energy that only comes from living beside something that powerful. The surrounding rainforest is layered and loud, filled with howler monkeys at dawn and the chorus of a thousand frogs after dusk. Hot springs fed by volcanic heat wind through gardens of heliconia and ginger, and the famous waterfall plunges 75 metres into a pool of cool, jade-green water. This is a place where nature is not a backdrop but the whole story, raw and generous and endlessly alive.

The watercolor palette here draws from deep canopy greens and the warm amber glow that filters through mist each morning, the kind of light that turns every leaf translucent. Volcanic greys anchor the compositions, balanced against the vivid emerald of Lago Arenal and bursts of tropical coral and ochre from the wildflowers that line every path.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your canvases made of?

Each piece is printed on museum-grade canvas with archival, fade-resistant inks, then stretched over a solid wood frame. Every canvas arrives ready to hang — no additional framing needed — and is built to hold its colour for decades.

How is the artwork created?

Every design begins with a real place on the map. We reimagine it in our signature painterly watercolour style and print it on gallery canvas, so you get the soul of a painting with the durability of a fine-art print.

Can you turn my own photo into a painting?

Yes — it's one of our favourite things to make. Our Frame Your Own Photo service transforms your travel memory into a painterly canvas in the same style as our collection. Upload your photo, choose a size, and we do the rest.

Are your prints made sustainably?

Every canvas is made to order — nothing is mass-produced and nothing sits in a warehouse — so there's no overproduction and no dead-stock waste. We also print through local fulfilment centres close to you, which shortens the journey your canvas travels and reduces its carbon footprint.

What sizes are available?

Each design comes in a range of sizes to suit anything from a gallery wall to a statement centrepiece. You'll find the full size guide with dimensions on every product page.

Where do you ship, and how long does it take?

We ship to the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Europe — with free shipping on U.S. orders over $50. Because every piece is made to order, allow 2–3 business days of handling, then transit: 3–5 business days in the U.S., 2–5 in Canada, and 6–12 across the U.K. & Europe. Most U.S. orders arrive within 5–8 business days total, and you'll receive tracking the moment yours ships.

What's your return policy?

We want you to love your canvas. If it's not quite right, you can return it within 30 days of delivery. And if anything arrives damaged, simply send us a photo and we'll arrange a replacement right away — no need to send it back.
